“Shalimar”….
~~ These are the lyrics to a song I composed on guitar, with my voice, in
1998… I saw this photo in a National Geographic magazine, and the look
in her eyes made me think insightfully, about how I myself was feeling at
the time….
~*~*~“Shalimar…. I saw you drifting through the woodlands,
in the frosted air ~ silently burning….
~~ You comprehend the true mystery of the human race ~
but where is your home base…. Even the trees can feel
your deep grace….
“Shalimar….Ooh-ooh, I see the sparkle in your midnight eyes ~
It reflects every moontide, and every sunrise….
Sometimes the greatest beauty, blooms from the darkness….
“Shalimar….You show people the sweetest things, even while
you’re hurting….Yes, I know….Sometimes pure glory can grow
out of sorrow….
“Shalimar….Ooh-ooh….I see the sparkle in your midnight eyes….
It reflects every moontide, and every sunrise….
Sometimes the greatest beauty blooms from the darkness….
Even the freest bird, needs a resting place….” ~*~*~
